Instructions for Filing a Certificate of Business
Every person, corporation, firm, and general partnership conducting, carrying on, or transacting business in the state of Nevada under an assumed or fictitious name or designation must file with the County Clerk of each county in which the business is being carried on, or is intended to be carried on, a Certificate of Business: Fictitious Firm Name in accordance with Chapter 602 of the Nevada Revised Statutes.
Upon filing the certificate with the County Clerk, a filing fee of $20 is required. Two (2) copies are included in the fee. If additional copies are requested, an additional $.50 cents per page is required as per NRS 19.018. The original document is retained by the County Clerk.

Information on the Certificate
The certificate must contain the following information:
- Name of the business
- Physical address of the business
- Type of business to be conducted
- Name(s) of the corporation or person(s) conducting the business
- Address(es) of the corporation or person(s) conducting the business
Signatures on the Certificate
The certificate must be signed by either:
- An officer of the corporation or
- Each person interested in, or conducting, or carrying on such business.
Signatures must be acknowledged before an officer authorized to do so (Notary Public or Deputy Clerk).
If you wish to cancel a Fictitious Firm Name, please complete a Certificate of Termination of Fictitious Business Name and return it to the Clerk's Office by mail or in person.
Persons who have filed certificates pursuant to NRS 602.020 for doing business under an assumed or fictitious name must renew the certificate with the Nye County Clerk within five (5) years after it was filed, as required by Nye County Ordinance No. 269.
