County Manager Pam Webster officially retires

Wednesday, January 3, marked the last day for retiring County Manager Pam Webster. Pam joined the county in 2006 in finance, becoming assistant county manager a year later. She has served the county as county manager since 2012. Below are some remarks made at Tuesday's Board of County Commission meeting about her departure from Commissioner Lorinda Wichman, currently the longest-serving commissioner on the board at nine years:

"It is a bittersweet heart that wishes Pam Webster a happy retirement.
Pam has been our longest standing and most successful County Manager since my involvement in County business nearly 15 years ago.
Under Pam's management, we have experienced new levels of cohesiveness. We saw more innovation and efficiencies, more stable and sustainable budgets and through her program of succession training, we have been provided an excellent replacement.
There isn't any fanfare; no party, no cake. At her insistence, she wishes only to slip out the side door and be off to her well-deserved retirement.
Respecting her wishes, with only a small public recognition by this commissioner. Pam, if you are watching this broadcast, you have been a treasured colleague. At times the chastising momma voice, always the trusted confidante, my mentor, and my dear friend.
Go with God."

Happy retirement Pam.
