Welcome to your Nye County Planning Department

Jack Lohman, AICP, Planning Director

We provide advice and technical expertise to assist Elected Officials, Planning Commissions, public agencies, and citizens in understanding and dealing with key community issues related to the planning, zoning and development functions.

We continue to focus our efforts on a long-term commitment to further the planning function through development of information systems including mapping, database design and management. We maintain an organization where the pursuit of excellence keeps us above the rest, and integrity is our standard.

Within Nye County there currently exists two distinctively different sets of land development regulations: One set covers the Pahrump Regional Planning District (PRPD), which is generally the Town of Pahrump and the other covers all other areas of Nye County.
